Arabs are a linguistic and cultural community with a common history. Most,but not all, Arabs are Muslims. About 12 million Arabs are Christian and thousands are Jewish. Most Muslims are not Arabs. About 85% of the world's Muslims are not Arabs. Indonesia has the largest Muslim population in the world. The Bedouin image of Arabs is outdated. Most Arabs live in cities, towns and villages. Bedouins make up about 2% of the population in the Arab World.

Changes from many sides: political, social, cultural, and economical; all these profoundly affect the Arab woman.
